Our Mission Statement
The Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton exists to unite, educate, and inspire.
We do this through four foundational pillars that guide everything we do: Education, Culture, Community and Harmony
Education
We partner with schools, educators, and community organizations to bring Afro-Caribbean history and culture into learning spaces across Halton Region, fostering understanding, empathy, and a deeper sense of shared humanity in the next generation.
Culture
We celebrate and preserve the richness of Afro-Caribbean heritage through arts, music, dance, storytelling, and cultural events that invite the entire community to experience, appreciate, and honour the traditions that make us who we are.
Community
We create meaningful opportunities for people of all backgrounds to come together — through events, programs, and initiatives that spark real connection, deepen civic engagement, and strengthen the fabric of life across Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills, and Burlington.
Harmony
We champion research, awareness, and open dialogue that drives genuine inclusion — moving beyond words to create a Halton Region where diversity is not just acknowledged, but actively valued and lived every day.
Our Four Pillars
These are the core pillars on which our organization is built upon.
Learning That Opens Minds and Builds Bridges
Education
Our goal is simple: to create supportive, engaging spaces where students feel seen, curious, and connected. By bringing diverse perspectives directly into schools, we’re not just teaching history — we’re helping shape a generation that leads with empathy and understanding.
Celebrating the Richness of Afro-Caribbean Heritage
Culture
From music and dance to art, food, and storytelling, our cultural initiatives are designed to showcase the contributions of the Afro-Caribbean community — and to create moments of connection, pride, and discovery for everyone who participates. Because when one community’s culture is celebrated, the whole community is enriched.
Bringing People Together, One Event at a Time
Community
Whether it’s a cultural festival, a community forum, a heritage showcase, or a youth program, our events create real opportunities for residents of all backgrounds to connect, learn, and grow together. Everyone is welcome. Every voice matters.
Research, Awareness, and the Path to True Inclusion
Harmony
By contributing to this body of knowledge, we help equip community leaders, organizations, and residents with the tools and understanding needed to build a region where every person — regardless of background — feels a genuine sense of belonging.
